Preparing Langoustines with Ease and Finesse

To begin, gently rinse the langoustines under cold running water. Using a sharp knife, score the shells lengthwise, taking care not to cut through the meat. This will allow for easier grilling or frying later on.

Next, season the langoustines to perfection with a generous sprinkling of salt and freshly ground black pepper. Set them aside while you prepare the salad greens.

Thoroughly wash and pat dry the salad greens of your choice. Arrange them on a serving platter or individual plates.

Grilling or Frying: The Choice is Yours

For grilling, preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the langoustines on the grill, shell-side down. Cook until the shells turn a vibrant red and the meat becomes opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.

If you prefer frying, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, carefully transfer the langoustines to the pan, again shell-side down. Cook until golden brown on the bottom, then flip and cook the other side until the meat is opaque.

Once cooked, remove the langoustines from the heat and allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving. Arrange them on top of the salad greens and enjoy the delectable flavors of freshly prepared langoustines.
