Lines Form In Vb Ahead Of The Start Of Early Voting

## Lines Form in Virginia Beach Ahead of the Start of Early Voting VIRIGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Early voting for the 2022 midterm elections begins Friday, Sept. 16, and in Virginia Beach, there were already lines of voters waiting outside the registrar's office in the morning. This is the first of 10 days of in-person early voting in Virginia. All registered voters can show up at any early voting location in their city or county during the early voting period. Virginia does not have same-day voter registration, so you must be registered to vote by Tuesday, Sept. 27, in order to vote in the election. No matter if you vote absentee by mail, in-person early, or on Election Day, your vote counts the same. However, there are pros and cons to each method. For example, voting by mail is convenient and secure, but it can take more time for your ballot to be counted. In-person early voting allows you to avoid the lines on Election Day, but you may have to wait in line to vote early. Voting on Election Day is the most traditional way to vote, but it can be the most crowded and stressful. The registrar's office in Virginia Beach is located at 2401 Courthouse Drive. Early voting hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Voters should bring a photo ID with them to the polls. A list of acceptable forms of ID can be found on the Virginia Department of Elections website.
