Thunderstorms, Small Tornadoes to Lash NZ

Severe Weather Warnings Issued as Storm Approaches

Several thunderstorm and tornado warnings have been issued for parts of New Zealand as a complex low-pressure system brings severe weather to the country.

The MetService has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the North Island, including Auckland, Waikato, Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty, and Taupo.

A tornado warning has also been issued for the Waikato region, with small tornadoes possible in the area.
